Traditional Eclectic Interior Design
After months of searching for the perfect home, this family of three fell in love with this 1947 Wayzata home. Originally built by the famous architect, Edwin Lundie, this home is filled with amazing character and charm. Although the family loved the bones of the home, it didn’t quite feel like home to them. Designer Brandi reimagined almost every space with new or repurposed decor, creating an eclectic yet traditional vibe.

When refreshing a space, we'll sometimes work with existing furniture. In this case, we kept the rug and finished the rest of the room. Truly the colors of the rug are what make this room pop.

Each selection is carefully chosen to create a custom composition, artfully crafted just for this family. The stars of this show are the baker chairs designed by renowned designer Barbara Barry, and lovely colorful, geometric Missoni cushions.

In the owner's suite are a whitewood vaulted ceiling and a dramatic navy blue ultra-suede wall covering. To keep options open, the neutral blackout draperies allow for updating to more colorful bedding.

When you can’t decide on one chandelier, we’ll hang all three. This works really well and created a brilliant trio.

A bit of a magic trick hangs above the refreshed fireplace. What looks to be just a mirror is also a TV that keeps both husband and wife happy.

A very lucky young daughter is thrilled with her new bedroom featuring a dog-patterned wall covering. We often are asked about this fun dog wallpaper, but sadly, it's no longer carried making this room truly one of a kind. Her bed was repurposed (it used to be mom and dad's) and lacquered a dark gray. For more color, we added touches of pink and green to the bedding.

A fantastic find on 1stDibs.com! These stools are 50's retro and add a unique charm.

There's no shame in repurposing furniture especially when as beautiful as these dining chairs. We took these from their previous traditional home and upholstered them with white, patent leather, and nailhead trims.
