Modern Luxury Design
We loved working on this project for the 2020 Artisan Home Tour. It's a modern masterpiece and every element of this home works together in harmony. Warm wood, textured stone, black hardware, and cool steel repeat throughout the interior. This breathtaking home is on the shores of Lake Minnetonka and was done in collaboration with Nor-Son Custom Builders and David Charlez Designs.
A kitchen that's fit for a chef centers around the oversized Cambria Quartz waterfall countertop and top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances by Sub Zero. On the back wall is a custom metal hood just above the stove and a shaped stone backsplash. On the left, the wine and fridge were purposely left with sleek stainless steel so as not to create a dark wall.
A wood ceiling with pendant lighting and a lit soffit design wraps around the kitchen and dining area. The open flow between the kitchen, dining, and the screened-in porch makes entertaining easy. Around the corner from the kitchen is a screened-in porch featuring a pizza oven, grill, and lounge space. Truly a two-season as screens wrap around the room. There is, however, heat in the ceiling plus the warmth from the long thin modern fireplace to help enjoy it for as long as possible. During the off-seasons, simply pull the 15-foot pocket door closed.
The pantry prep off of the kitchen is equipped with Cambria Ironsbridge Quartz countertops, walnut cabinetry, and stainless steel cabinet hardware and plumbing.
It’s not often that you find transom windows in a bathroom, but with 10 ft ceilings, we had the height to add them in. Additionally, the team selected a walnut floating vanity with a faux marble quartz countertop. The dark straight lay tile and black plumbing fixtures enhance the modern aesthetic. A double sink plus tons of counter space is great for getting ready for the day or unwinding at night.
Step down into an entertainment space that elevates the Cineplex experience. Done in collaboration with Admit One - Home Theater and Automation, this is the perfect space for the family to relax and watch a movie together. An emphasis on comfort, a dramatic dark-painted soffit, and individual tray tables for snacks. Overall, modern design elements such as the sconces at the entrance and the gas fireplace running above a stacked limestone play nicely together.
